Engage09: The Recap Part 1

June may be peek season for weddings, but it's also the one and only time and place ALL the best of the best in the biz gather (aka the annual Engage Wedding Business Symposium).  Engage09 was recently held on the beautiful island of Grand Cayman, at the Ritz Carlton to be exact.  Yes, yes, hard at work for us wedding professionals, in-between the beach and rum punch.  When this cast and crew gets together (including the likes of Darcy Miller and Preston Bailey); it's a party like no other - complete with art installation in the hotel halls and a custom made Cayman map by Laura Hooper (see above).

Now why is this trip so interesting to those of you getting married (besides the who's who guest list)?  The decor for one!  We'll recap two of the events at which we all worked so hard (okay, not all of us worked these events, but we all enjoyed!)

The opening night kicked off with a beachside, barefoot in the sand party, complete with flip flop check along the "something blue" carpet.  Once guests were greeted by camera crews and our gracious hosts, we were treated with the designs of the one and only Michelle Rago, who was in charge of throwing a party for professional party throwers.  From the boat floating off shore carrying a steel drum band, to comfy cabanas and gourmet local foods and fish, nothing quite topped the fireworks finale shot just off the coast and just for us.

All photos by Stacey Kane of www.staceykaneblog.com (with the exception of photo #1 on the phone of our friend and favorite blogger, Liene Stevens).
